Abstract
This work describes the development of an agent architecture devoted to the passenger transportation domain under a demandresponsive scenario. The solution has been modeled using the PASSI methodology integrating users, vehicles, and support-service providers into a single architecture. It provides a set of base agents that perform the basic interface, planning and support services, which can be extended to tackle specific passenger transport conditions and scenarios. The architecture is in charge of the planning and scheduling of passenger trips using the contract-net protocol as base coordination mechanism. It also allows the events’ processing caused by changes to the original plan due to vehicle failures or delays, detours and traffic jams, cancellations or passenger no-show. The system has been modeled with the PASSI Toolkit(PTK) and implemented over Jade.
